Recontextualise – Kylie Blackley

Launch: Friday 2nd of December 6 – 8pm at Printmaker Gallery.

Celebrating archive and temporality in a one night pop up, this installation explores a new configuration for images accumulated over the last ten years.

Kylie Blackley is a Melbourne based artist practising in print, ink and paper. After graduating from VCA she undertook selected local and international residencies exhibiting in Melbourne, Osaka and Riga while working as a printmaking technician for universities and artists. Blackley’s intimate works on paper accumulate into installation based practice focused on associative, esoteric narratives from top drawers, collected boxes and train windows.

Exhibition: currently showing

Dean Bowen is a highly acclaimed Australian artist, with a career spanning over 25 years.
We are privileged to present Pinnacle which will showcase Dean Bowen’s Lithographs, Etchings, Paintings and Bronze Sculpture, opening at Printmaker Gallery November 3rd 2016.
Bowen’s images have delighted and inspired us for decades, with their bold colours and highly imaginative characters and animal motifs set within the Australian environment. At its heart, his artwork explores  natural and habitual everyday life, an ever-evolving vehicle by which we consider the world and our place in it. The magic of Bowen’s images lies in their charisma, sensitivity and humour.

‘The delicate and ephemeral nature of the paper contributes to my on-going themes of the ever-changing landscape, and our ever-changing memories of it and its associations.’ – Elizabeth Banfield

Elizabeth has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and her artwork is held is numerous collections including Australia, USA and UK.

Studio Visit Dean Bowen

We had the pleasure of visiting Dean Bowen’s amazing and enormous studio recently to select works for his upcoming exhibition with Printmaker Gallery, in November.
It was a very special experience for us to see where Dean creates his remarkable works, from small etchings to gigantic bronze casts and racks of vibrant paintings. We are very excited about curating this exhibition, which will include a number of prints, paintings and sculptures. Look out for more news to come…
