WHAT IS ART RESTORATION and CONSERVATION?

The intention of art conservation is to enhance and in some instances, reconstruct the condition of an artwork that is damaged or has deteriorated, by addressing the surface disfigurement and stabilising its physical condition. In doing so, the art conservator aims to retain as much original material as possible and to employ the highest quality materials and the most carefully considered methods available.
